Off .Foot

In town

It was a Saturday night. I was out on the town for some street photography when I ran into this.
It was actually a bizarre setting.
Mind you, I didn’t stage this, I happened to walk by (none of the images in this series are staged in any the way).
A hundred things go through your head─at least it did with me at that time─about what happened, how they got there, how they got there so neatly, etc.

Et voilà. “Off foot” was born.

Funny thing about the one with the green pair… This was one of those situations again where I was on my knees and elbows on the floor, with half of Helsinki passing me on that Saturday night. No police involved this time, but I did get a few funny stares.

Off to a good home

And then there was this homeless guy, who, bless him, patiently waited for me to finish my photo session with The Shoes, before giving me a raised eyebrow for the ok, and when I nodded, he quickly scooped up The Shoes and disappeared into the night.

They’re everywhere

But check it… once you know there are shoes everywhere─like… EVERYwhere─you can’t unsee them. In the weirdest places, in the weirdest setup.
